This evening of chamber music will feature music by French composers. The program will open with the regal Fanfare pour précéder La Péri by Paul Dukas. Darius Milhaud’s masterpiece La creation du monde follows, featuring a prominent saxophone solo and string quartet. Florent Schmitt’s Lied et Scherzo is a lovely work featuring a prominent horn solo. The program concludes with Emile Bernard’s massive Divertissement, op. 36 for double woodwind quintet.
